The branch of agricultural engineering is not as well known as some of the other branches, but it is nevertheless a very important aspect of engineering which you will find suitable if you are creative, love nature and have the ability to solve problems in the field. Agricultural engineering is that discipline which applies the principles of engineering to farming and food production in order to make these processes more efficient and productive. This includes design and up gradation of improved agricultural machinery and devising better methods of irrigation, pest control, fertilizers, harvest and storage. Since agriculture is the ultimate source of food for all mankind, this branch of study is gradually gaining importance. In addition to the above, agricultural engineering also deals with mechanical aspects of animal husbandry and soil and water conservation for farming.
