The ICETSE 2026 is scheduled November 06–07, 2026, at Akshaya Institute of Technology, Tumkur, Karnataka.
Tumkur, officially renamed as Tumakuru, is a prominent city in the southern Indian state of Karnataka. Located about 70 km northwest of Bengaluru, the state’s capital and largest city, Tumakuru lies along National Highways NH 48 and NH 73, making it an important transport and commercial hub. The city serves as the administrative headquarters of Tumakuru district and is situated at an elevation of approximately 835 meters above sea level, giving it a relatively pleasant climate compared to many other parts of the region. Tumakuru has been steadily developing as an educational, industrial, and agricultural center. It is well known for its educational institutions, which attract students from nearby districts and states. The city also plays a significant role in the agro-based economy of Karnataka, with surrounding areas producing coconut, ragi, and groundnut in large quantities.
One of the major highlights of Tumakuru is India’s first Mega Food Park, established under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries. The India Food Park, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in September 2014, aims to boost food processing, create employment opportunities, and reduce agricultural wastage. With growing infrastructure, industrial expansion, and proximity to Bengaluru, Tumakuru is emerging as an important satellite city and a key contributor to Karnataka’s economic growth.
