Department of Agricultural Engineering was established in Akshaya Institute of Technology, Tumkur in the year 2022-23. The department offers U.G programme in Agricultural Engineering with an intake of 30 No’s. Highly qualified, experienced and committed faculty members supported by the technical staff constantly train the students to achieve high academic standards. The application of engineering in agriculture is mandatory for complete mechanization of agricultural farms. This programme provides the students with both theoretical and practical knowledge on engineering applications in agriculture. The curriculum involves courses in Basic Agriculture, Basic Engineering, Soil and Water Conservation, Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, Food Processing Engineering and Renewable Energy Engineering. The students can be able to shine in all fields and also the programme helps the students to transform themselves as a young entrepreneur. VTU offers B.E in Agriculture Engineering with a curriculum designed particularly to cope up with industrial needs, with a view to mould the student’s job oriented and get better placements after graduation.
